Are you worried that your pre-teen is going through a hard time?
Problem behaviors and emotional distress children struggle with are the result of their difficulty to communicate their thoughts and feelings in a way in which they feel that they are being listened to and understood by their parents and other adults.
Working with pre-teens/tweens (10 to 12) involves exploring their thoughts, feelings, and attitudes behind their struggle in talk. Traditional talk therapy and play therapy can help children learn that they have the ability to make positive choices that will help them to work through the challenges in life.
